The inspiration for today's card comes from the most recent issue of our demonstrator magazine-I tweaked a few things, including colors-I wanted to feature the new in-colors-and added some embellishments and texture.

Button Buddies was on my first order from the new catalogue last year and remains one of my favorite and most used stamp sets. It was the featured Stamp Set of the Month for May.
What is the stamp set of the month club-each month for 8 months you receive the stamp set of the month, along with four fully completed cards and some fun extras. May was a trial month, before signing up for 8 months-at the end of the 8 months you receive a free hostess stamp set of your choice. Here is a sneak peek of the completed projects that were included.
This month's package also included a fun 3 D item, a set of each of 6 sizes of shaker frames and some other fun extras delivered right to your door. The tip sheet included instructions for using shaker frames and some fun techniqes for getting more out of your Big Shot Dies. I took the packages to the post office last Saturday-I think everyone should have their packages by now.

I am busy planning/creating for some upcoming classes and clubs so I don't have much I am ready to share. Today's card features a layout I use often and is perfect for our notecards.

Lots to do this weekend so needed an easy, peasy, quick and easy card for today's post-My Digital Studio to the rescue. I made the card fronts in My Digital Studio a couple of weeks ago and uploaded them to Stampin' Up! to be printed-they were in my mailbox yesterday. This is just as convenient as on-line shopping from the comfort of your own home...and added bonus-there was no mess to clean up-I still love working with all my inks, tools, and embellishments, but I sure do make a mess! I used a premade My Digital Studio template, removed the greeting and added some drop shadows-so the card was ready to send to printing in 5 minutes.
What does hybrid mean-it is a mix of digital and traditional papercrafting. I mounted the printed digital fronts on a card base with dimensionals, added some basic pearls and the embossed banner greeting.
Well, off to tackle some of the items on my weekend to do list! Have a great weekend-the sun is shining here-originally the forecast was for rain.

Another favorite that is retiring-Friends Never Fade. Here are two of the many cards I made with this set-these were CASED from our demonstrator magazine.
The cardstock used for the card bases is also retiring-both Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait.

I love the soon to retire Fifth Avenue Floral-it is a great technique stamp.
I am still not back to my usual photo location! I stamped the flower with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The darker part of the flower is done with the Versamark marker-also on the retiring list as is the Whisper White Satin Ribbon.The sentiment retired a couple of years ago.
I took this photo before water! This flower is stamped with Versamark on shimmer paper and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The flower is then spritzed with water so that it is quite wet-drops of reinker are then applied to the flower with an aquapainter-so pretty. Lots of fun things to come in my technique club this fall. There is no sentiment on this card-I add whatever sentiment I need at the time I use the card.
I have a couple more cards to show with this stamp set-but I will have to leave those for another post.

I haven't made a Ten Minute Tuesday card for a long time-and since 10 minutes is about all the time and energy I had to spare tonight, was the perfect choice...please excuse my photography-my usual photo spot is still suffering from the water fiasco....
Grey and yellow are a real trend right now-and was the inspiration for this card. I have never been a fan of grosgrain ribbon...and that has changed with the new 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon featured in the new catalogue-it ties like a dream and is just a tad less stiff-I love it!

I wish I felt serene tonight-we just finished soaking up the water that leaked in to our basement yesterday and started up again this morning-the ceiling doesn't look so good and the carpet...well it is less wet than it was...when my husband turned on the sprinklers yesterday....trouble started.
It put a little bit of a damper on part of the day yesterday-hmm, pun intended! I did have a lovely supper at the Keg with my family later in the evening. I love the cards I received-my son always makes a funny one-always on a sheet of white printer paper folded in half. My daughter has a new style-she buys a random funny card that she completely changes-I might just have to post some examples!
So I needed some serenity at the end of this day-this card that was a make and take at one of my upline's meetings seemed perfect!
The stamp set (Serene Snowflakes), the greeting stamp and the snowflake die are all retiring-the snowflake dies have sold out, but the two stamp sets are available until May 31st. I love the colors-soft suede and almost navy.

My Mom passed away 42 years ago. I remember her crocheted doilies that graced our home-and so when I saw this card in the brand new Stampin' Up! catalogue it seemed perfect for today.
I love simple, clean cards-and this design fits perfectly on our notecards.
